In 2014, Krista Ninivaggi launched her now 10-person interior design firm, K&CO based in lower Manhattan. The firm focuses on commercial interiors with particular attention to hospitality, multifamily residential and office interiors. Current projects include the Greenpoint for Mack Real Estate Group, HY36/Crowne Plaza and Nowadays, a new concept club venue.
Krista started her professional career at the Rockwell Group and later to the firm AvroKO before joining SHoP Architects as the director of the Interior Design Group. During her tenure at SHoP, she led the interior design of the Barclays Center Arena, The American Copper Towers and Shopbop's NYC headquarters. Krista is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.
In 2013, Krista was honored with the title of "Young Gun" by Curbed.com and was named "Designer of the Year" for 2014 by Contract Design Magazine. Krista serves as a member of the President's Alumni Advisory Council for the Rhode Island School of Design, the Editorial Advisory Board for Contract Magazine and the Undergraduate Program Advisory Board for the New York School of Interior Design. She has previously held teaching positions at Parsons and Columbia's Graduate School for Architecture, Planning and Preservation and has severed on the Emerging Professionals Advisory Board for The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
