Association for Management Information Systemsmiami

The Association for Management Information Systems (AMIS) is a registered student organization open to both graduate and undergraduate students interested in a career in information technology. The mission of AMIS is to introduce students into the IT profession and to provide students with opportunities that will enhance their educational and social development as an IT professional. Throughout the year, AMIS hosts both professional events: (field trips, guest speakers, discussion panels) and social events (knowledge bowl contest, member appreciation parties etc.)

AIS SCLC 2024 Competition

AIS Student Chapter competitions provide students with opportunities to learn, observe, and develop their skills with current industry leaders. The aim is to allow students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-life situations they might face in the workforce.

2024 Conference Competition Tracks

Monetary Awards

  • 1st place team: $3000
  • 2nd place team: $2000
  • 3rd place team: $1000

General Rules for Competitions

  • Faculty can give insight and advice, but the competition submissions should reflect the students' work.
  • A team must consist of 2-4 students. Some additional consideration will be given to teams that include at least one first- or second-year undergraduate student. Help us develop the next generation of IS and data professionals.
  • Students can participate in multiple competitions but cannot be finalists in multiple competitions. If a student is a finalist in more than one competition, the student must choose which one to compete in at the finals held in Logan, Utah.

Competition Timeline

  • Competitions announced - December 2023
  • Preliminary submissions due - (EXTENDED) February 8, 2024
  • Finalists notified - February 15, 2024
  • Finalists compete at the conference in Logan, Utah, before a panel of judges - March 21 – 23, 2024
