For students starting in the fall:

Yes, all incoming freshmen students are required to complete orientation. Through orientation, students will meet with an academic advisor, have the opportunity to register for classes, and learn how to be a successful Tiger in and out of the classroom.

Students: $110
Guests: $55/guest. $80 if guests wish to stay overnight on campus.

  • For guests
    • All meals – except breakfast on Day 2. That breakfast is optional and can be paid at the door for approximately $8.

Yes. We have programming scheduled for the students until into evening and programming beginning the next day early in the morning. It is a way to ensure safety for our students while also showcasing the University of Memphis student life.

Family members are an important part of the transition to college and we encourage a family member or guest to attend with students.

While students and guests will be in the same residence hall, they will not be sharing a room. Students will be in one wing of the building while guests will be in another.

If you are unable to attend the session you registered for, please login to the registration portal to choose another open session or email us at orientation@memphis.edu.

Yes, your immunization forms should be submitted prior to your session date. Those can be uploaded to our Health Center by clicking here. Failure to satisfy your immunization requirements may affect class registration.

Yes. You will receive your student ID at check-out of orientation.

For students starting in the spring:

No. Attendance is not mandatory for incoming Spring students. However, it is strongly encouraged for you to sign up to learn more about the resources available to you as a student.

  • Students: $30
  • Guests: $10 per guest

Family members are an important part of the transition to college and we encourage a family member or guest to attend with students.

  • All incoming Spring students should schedule an advising appointment with their respective academic advisors.
  • Please contact your academic department to set up an advising appointment and register for classes prior to attending spring orientation.
