Campus Recreation Intramural Services News
Recreation Center Temporarily Closed
Because the health and safety of our students, members, and employees are of the utmost importance to us, we are taking the precautionary measure of temporarily closing the Student Recreation and Fitness Center, effective Thursday, March 19, in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation.
The closure is in compliance with other preventive measures being followed by The University of Memphis, following guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to fight the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Because this is a continually evolving situation, we do not know how long the closure will last, but we will be providing frequent updates through our social media channels and website.
In keeping with our mission to encourage and support health and wellness among our students and the rest of the University community, we will be strategizing on new online wellness resources that we can offer our students and members. This may include online fitness classes and intramural games, as well as an increase in the amount of wellness information and engagement opportunities that we offer online. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
