Located in a city at the crossroads of international commerce, culture, and creativity, the academic programs at the University of Memphis include outstanding opportunities for students and faculty interested in international topics, for example:
- The International and Global Studies Program brings the knowledge of several traditional disciplines to bear upon a focal point of human relationships and problems that cross national and cultural boundaries.
- The Department of World Languages and Literatures offers instruction in eleven languages, a bachelor's degree in World Languages, and a Master of Arts in Romance Languages.
- The African and African-American Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences is an interdisciplinary approach to the study of African people in Africa and the Diaspora.
