Matt McDaniel, MS, MPH, MPA

About Matt McDaniel

Matt McDaniel joined the College of Health Sciences as a health sciences instructor in the fall 2019. Before joining the University of Memphis, he worked for the Tennessee Department of Health as a County Director in the West Region. In this position, Matt served as the lead administrator for three rural county health departments. He worked heavily in Tobacco Master Settlement Funding disbursement and Built Environment infrastructure in his counties. Before this role, he worked in emergency preparedness with the Shelby County Health Department. Matt has also worked for other governmental, non-profit and private entities in a variety of roles related to health and wellness. He has been active in the Tennessee Public Health Association for many years, serving in various board positions, from Audit Chair to President. Mr. McDaniel is happy to be working at the UofM educating and mentoring future professionals in health sciences.
