CfIA Online course (MSP) available for Pilot testing
The Center for Information Assurance (CfIA) at the University of Memphis has released an web-based course “Mobile Device Security and Privacy” for pilot testing. The flyer for this course can be found here.

To participate in the MSP web-based course, please go to www.act-online.net and register with an email-ID of your choice. Once you have registered, click on the MSP course, then sign up. If you already have an act-online user account, then you simply log in with your user ID to access the course.

For pilot testing the MSP course, the CfIA will also be offering 30 individuals the opportunity to attend a proctored 4-hour session on a first-response basis. You need to send a reply to Kelly Freeman (knfreman@memphis.edu) if you are interested. The date, time and location will be provided accordingly. To participate in the proctored session, create an act-online account and bring a laptop. Refreshments will be served. If you are interested in this opportunity, then please respond at your earliest convenience. Spaces are limited.

The Center for Information Assurance (CfIA) is a nationally designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency (NSA) & Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This project is federally funded courtesy of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), so there is no cost to the user. The center has developed 10 cyber security-related courses, which are currently hosted at FEMA site (www.teex.org). GenCyber Boot Camp for middle and high school successfully concluded
The GenCyber Boot Camp 2017 for middle and high school successfully concluded on 16th and 23rd of June respectively. The middle school camp was featured on Action News 5. The Center for Information Assurance (CfIA) director, Prof. Dipankar Dasgupta gave a presentation in TN CyberSecurity Conference on 6th June 2017 highlighting the ongoing research in CyberSecurity. Download the flyer

The Center for Information Assurance (CfIA) was interviewed by Local 24 News channel to provide expert comments on an recent cyber incident: Patients Concerned After Medical Records Hacked At Memphis Doctors Office. In another news story: Is Big Brother Watching? How Hackers Can Use Your Electronics To Spy On You, CfIA director Prof. Dipankar Dasgupta weighed in on Internet-connected devices and the potential risks they pose.
