Don't Miss our 10th Annual Intermodal Freight Conference: The State of Freight!
Held at the FedEx Institute of Technology, the 10th Annual Intermodal Conference, The State of Freight, will take place from 8:15 a.m - 12 Noon on Friday, December 2, 2016. A free lunch will be served immediately following the conference. After lunch, make plans to stay for the First Annual Biologistics Symposium: Advancing Supply Chains, Logistics, and Transportation of Bio-Products: State of the Art Meets State of the Practice. This symposium will showcase the cutting edge research taking place here at the University of Memphis as a result of a partnership between the Intermodal Freight Transportation Institute and the FedEx Institute of Technology. This partnership created a Biologistics Research Cluster, home to the University of Memphis Biologistics Research Fellows.

Biologistics can be defined as the management of the safe flow of high value, temperature sensitive, and time-critical biological materials as they are delivered for patient care, analyzed for diagnostic purposes, processed to higher value products or stored to meet physical and data archival needs.
The Intermodal Freight Transportation Institute (IFTI) addresses critical issues affecting the planning, design and operation of the nation's intermodal freight transportation systems.
The IFTI vision is to be a nationally recognized leader in linking people to solutions in freight and logistics through research, education and technology transfer activities.
Who We Are
IFTI offers an administrative home for a wide range of multi-disciplinary research and curricular initiatives as well as public-private partnership endeavors collectively designed to provide national leadership on issues related to intermodal freight transportation. IFTI addresses critical issues affecting the planning, design and operation of the nation's intermodal freight transportation systems with an emphasis on the intermodal issues that have local significance with national and international implications.
