Polytechnic Programs

The Polytechnic@UofM is a new academic unit launching in Fall 2025, offering programs designed to enhance workforce preparedness. These condensed curricula (30-40 credits) feature alternative math requirements and flexible electives, allowing students to pair technical programs with other majors. Additionally, credits can be earned through transfers, certifications, and real-world experiences.

Degree and Certificate Programs

Starting in Fall 2025, Polytechnic@UofM will introduce degree programs in:

  • Information Technology
  • Manufacturing Supervision
  • Construction Leadership

Additionally, two certificate programs will be available to all students:

  • Manufacturing Leadership
  • Networking and Security

Manufacturing Leadership

Gain practical knowledge in supervisory management, lean concepts, quality analysis, and production control. This certificate prepares you for roles in:

  • Operations/Manufacturing Supervision
  • Quality Assurance and Control
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Management
Manufacturing Leadership

  • TECH 4381 - Principles of Supervision (Fall CRN 87906)
  • TECH 4460 - Work Design/Improvement
  • TECH 4462 - Quality Improvement (Fall CRN 96334)
  • TECH 4464 - Production Control Systems

Networking and Security

Learn essential skills in operating systems, networking technologies, and cybersecurity. Prepares students for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification.
