April 9, 2015 - Dr. M. David Rudd will be invested as the 12th president of the University of Memphis Friday, April 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the Michael D. Rose Theatre.
Among those expected to attend are Memphis Mayor A C Wharton, Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell, Jackson, Tenn., Mayor Jerry Gist and Gov. Bill Haslam, who will conduct the swearing-in. The processional will include University administrators, academic deans, faculty members, delegates from institutions of higher education, alumni and representatives from student organizations.
A reception on the Student Plaza will follow the ceremony. Music will be provided by students and faculty of the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music.
Rudd took office as president last May.
