UofM Partners with Sprintax to Assist International Students with Tax Returns

January 8, 2018 - The University of Memphis Center for International Education Services (CIES) has entered a partnership with Sprintax to provide a comprehensive tax solution for UofM international students and scholars. Sprintax is an online tax preparation system designed specifically for international students and research scholars. "We are delighted to offer this free income tax software to our international students and scholars to help them stay in compliance with U.S. tax regulations," said Rebecca Laumann, interim director of CIES.

All international students and scholars, regardless of whether they earn income or not, are required to file a tax return in compliance with federal regulations. The Sprintax system provides a step-by-step guide through each part of the tax return process as well as access to 65 international tax treaty agreements and exemptions. Sprintax also includes a 24/7 live chat service and a toll-free help line.
