QEP Goals and Outcomes
The topic of experiential learning was identified and developed through a broad-based, comprehensive planning process involving various University stakeholders committed to advancing UofM’s mission. The QEP Leadership Team developed three overarching goals to guide the five-year plan:
Goal 1: Enhance student experiential learning opportunities across the curricular and co-curricular experience to support career readiness.
Goal 2: Develop a comprehensive and systematic professional development model aimed at empowering and supporting faculty to design and implement experiential learning opportunities that foster career readiness.
Goal 3: Facilitate the awareness and benefits of career readiness skills acquired through on-campus internships and co-curricular activities.
To support these goals, Tigers Excel focuses on three student learning outcomes (SLOs) and one student success outcome (SSO):
SLO 1: Students will demonstrate proficiency in career readiness competencies appropriate to their academic disciplines and career goals.
SLO 2: Students will critically reflect on how experiential learning influences career readiness.
SLO 3: Students will effectively communicate their career readiness competencies.
SSO 1: After a five-year period (by Fall 2030), 85% of undergraduate seniors will have
participated in at least one experiential learning activity supporting career readiness.
