Biography
Dr. Rita Green is an academic research fellow at the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis as well as a member of its accounting faculty since 2016 following her tenure as Assistant Extension Professor at Mississippi State University. She holds a doctorate in higher education and a bachelor as well as MBA degrees, in accounting. Her interdisciplinary research interests include consumer economics and the household balance sheet. Her articles have appeared in several publications, including the Journal of Affordable Housing and Community Development Law and Bridges, which is a publication of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Dr. Green was recently appointed to the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel and serves on the board of the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE).
