A 3L student, has a lot on his or her mind. Classes, graduation, jobs and passing the bar exam. They've heard the horror stories about the infamous exam from their classmates before them. They know this is what they've worked for over the past three years. These are hardworking, undaunted students who appreciate support from someone else who has been in their shoes before. And that's where you come in!

Memphis Law's students are dedicated, driven, and focused on their future, particularly our 3Ls who have put in countless hours in the classrooms and the library, tutoring and study groups, planning SBA events, coordinating Alternative Spring Break, participating in moot court teams and writing Law Review articles. And just when they thought they saw the light at the end of the tunnel, they found out that the cost to take the bar exam was almost another $1,000 (not to mention the cost for taking a bar prep course). This will be your opportunity to sponsor one of these deserving 3Ls and help them devote their full attention to passing the bar exam.

And just like many other sponsorship opportunities, you will learn about your student as a result of your gift. You'll receive a tailored Impact Report outlining who received your gift, how it helped them, and a personalized "Thank You" for all your gift meant to your student.

With each $1,000 gift you give, a deserving 3L will feel the support of a community cheering them on, pushing them closer to that dream of being a practicing attorney. And with each $1,000 gift you give, you will be recognized, placing an indelible mark in UofM history and on the story YOUR sponsored 3L will tell when sharing what helped them take the bar exam.

So if you're ready to start the process, here's the rundown:

1. Your gift must be $1,000 or more. If you give $2,000 annually, you help TWO deserving students. $3000 = 3 students. You get the drill!
2. There are many payment avenues and options available. Give online at memphis.edu/barfund or call the office at 901.678.3953 to set up a more customized installment plan.
3. Make YOUR gift by January 31, 2017, as students will be making payments for their exam as early as March 1. Start your new year by helping a student with these fees!
4. This is an annual giving program. So re-up and sponsor a new student every year to add to your UofM family tree.

Benefits:

• You'll receive an annual report each year – detailing the impact your gift made has made for each student you sponsor.

• At the $1,000 giving level, you automatically become a member of the President's Society and receive all the benefits that come with that membership.
