Research Specialist Responsible for performing research and development experiments for projects and products in collaboration with others.  Regularly exercises technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project goals.  Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.  May participate in external seminars and scientific conferences. Master of Science, Ph.D. preferred and one to two years of appropriate experience. $27,178.67-$63,869.87
Research Scientist Conduct scientific work in a variety of fields including biology, engineering, physics and chemistry, in order to collect data and analyze data and results.  Research Scientists use a variety of methods, such as experiments, surveys, and simulations to guide their research in order to make scientific advancements. Collaboration with other researchers and professionals in their field is often necessary for them to further their work.  Bachelor’s degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in relevant area and one to two years of appropriate experience (including Post Doc experience). Relevant experience may substitute for required education. $27,178.67-$63,869.87
Chief Software Architect, Research Center Conduct application testing and provide database management support. Create and maintain documentation as necessary for operational and security audits. Analyze and route issues into ticketing systems. Update and close tickets in a timely manner. Establish new users and manage access levels. Follow maintenance protocols to ensure systems are secure and ready for users. Maintain and troubleshoot devices, systems, hardware, and software. Bachelor’s degree in relevant area and three years of appropriate experience. Relevant experience may substitute for required education. $39,789.57-$97,484.45
Data Science Software Engineer Provides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance, and operations support. Recommends software and hardware enhancements. Diagnose and correct computer systems issues. Bachelor’s degree in relevant area and two years of appropriate experience. Material Science Lab Manager Manage, supervise and coordinate activities related to a laboratory environment in an effective, efficient and professional manner including developing procedural standards and a comprehensive training program. Participate in meetings, discussions, projects and workshops as may pertain to the administration of the services being provided by the respective area. Coordinate lab and/or research activities, provide technical support, and oversee staff.  May be required to develop and facilitate presentations. PhD in relevant area and a minimum of three years of appropriate experience. $39,789.57-$97,484.45

Associate Director of Research & Evaluation Plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day operations of an organizational unit, providing leadership to administrative and financial operations. May oversee financial planning, human resource administration, procurement, and property management. Position supervises Research and Data Analysts and Research Specialists. Doctorate degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, Public Health, or a related field and four years relevant research work experience. $39,789.57-$97,484.45
Sr. Research Equipment Technician Assists researchers in performing a variety of routine or repetitive technical duties in a laboratory and/or on a research project. Incumbents draw largely upon their practical knowledge and experience derived from trial and error work. Associate’s degree in relevant area and two years of appropriate experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience maybe substituted for the degree requirement. $23,032.77-$52,975.37
Coordinator Physiology Lab Coordinates teaching lab operations ensuring lab is cleaned and stocked; monitors inventory of lab supplies, researches, reviews and tests new lab technology, helps design lab curriculum, tests and quizzes. Master’s degree in a relevant area and one year of appropriate experience. Relevant experience may substitute for required education. $32,614.40-$78,274.56
Coordinator Molecular Science Lab Maintains all cultures used for teaching and research; monitors inventory of lab supplies; supervises lab assistants; DOT hazmat certified officer for the department; may be asked to give lecture in microbiology or general biology. Master’s degree in Biology or relevant area and one (1) year of laboratory experience in Biology. Relevant experience may substitute for required education. $32,614.40-$78,274.56

 

Non-Faculty Researchers

Non-faculty researchers are non-tenure track, doctorate-holding researchers whose primary function is not instruction (they do not teach more than a 1-1 load).  If an employee could qualify as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator on a grant and the employee is not a member of the tenure-track instructional faculty, then the employee is a Non-Faculty Researcher.
