About Dr. Kaplowitz
Dr. Kaplowitz received his Ph.D. in Hebrew and Judaic Studies from New York University with a dissertation on the interpretation of Spinoza found in the writings of the Jewish-German philosopher Hermann Cohen.
His research focuses on the Jewish philosophical tradition. He has published work in the Journal of Jewish Thought and Philosophy on Maimonides and Kant, and has presented papers at major national conferences on figures such as Gersonides and Franz Rosenzweig.
At the University of Memphis, Kaplowitz has taught courses for Bornblum Judaic Studies, as well as Religious Studies, Philosophy, and University College, including courses in Holocaust Studies, Medieval and Modern Jewish Philosophy, Introduction to Religion, and Methods and Theory in Religious Studies.
