Discovery Phase

Master planning starts with a process of discovery – understanding all aspects of the University of Memphis: our goals, aspirations, current challenges, and opportunities for the future.

This stage helps determine the planning vision and principles that guide decision-making throughout the process. During this phase, tough questions will be asked to formalize the expectations of the Master Plan and to gather and analyze information.

This phase focuses on gathering the material required to begin identifying opportunities and constraints that will guide the master planning effort. The assembled data will be strategic, quantitative, and will provide a physical record of the campus.
