The University of Memphis Trombone Choir

The University of Memphis Trombone Choir, under the direction of Dr. Martin McCain is a pedagogical extension of the trombone studio and specializes in performing original music written for 4- to 16- part trombone ensembles. The Trombone Choir is comprised of undergraduate and graduate trombonists performing on alto, tenor, bass and contrabass trombones.

The University of Memphis Trombone Choir performs regularly on campus and is one of the most active chamber ensembles in the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music while performing regularly at athletic events, concert series and throughout the tri-state area. The Trombone Choir has performed at the Big 12 Trombone Conference, Tennessee Music Educators Association Convention, American Trombone Workshop and the International Trombone Festival. The Slide Society Octet is a subset of the Trombone Choir program and serves as the premiere chamber group of the trombone studio which features the top 8 trombone majors.
