Dr. Jeremy Whittaker Joins Prestigious OA Influencer's Tour
Dr. Jeremy Whittaker, Associate Dean at the Loewenberg College of Nursing, University of Memphis, was recently selected to participate in the prestigious OA Influencer's Tour program. This program, organized by the Air Force, aims to showcase the diverse career opportunities available within the Air Force to influencers from various fields. The primary objective of the OA Influencer's Tour is to highlight the Air Force as a viable career option, emphasizing its greatest asset - its Airmen. Participants are given firsthand exposure to the recruitment, training, and employment processes of active-duty professionals, particularly in health, acquisitions, STEM, and engineering roles.
The tour included visits to key Air Force facilities, such as Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio; where guests engage with Air Force professionals and receive mission briefings. Officer Accession recruiters provided valuable insights into application requirements, scholarships, and loan deferment, which participants can share with their respective organizations and students.
During the tour, educational leaders like Dr. Whittaker enjoyed the opportunity to interact with enlisted members, officers, and civilians from various career fields, gaining insights into the breadth of opportunities within the Air Force. Recruiters accompanied tour guests throughout the week, offering personalized guidance and addressing any questions or concerns about potential Air Force careers.
In a celebratory highlight, Dr. Whittaker was proudly bestowed with honorary medals from the Commanders of the 342D “Rough Riders” and 318 “Spartans” Recruiting Squadrons. These prestigious accolades stand as a vibrant tribute to his outstanding leadership and remarkable positive influence on recruiting outcomes within these esteemed squadrons.
Dr. Whittaker's selection for this program underscores his demonstrated leadership and commitment to assisting in Air Force Officer recruitment efforts. Through his participation, he will further contribute to showcasing the Air Force as the "World's Greatest Air Force," both full-time and part-time, in or out of uniform.
