Research Development Launches Honorifics Resource
Over 200 Faculty Included in Recognitions
Honorifics are an important metric of the productivity of a research community, and
the University of Memphis is proud to have faculty who have been honored by over 120
national and international organizations. These awards include early career recognitions,
lifetime achievement awards, distinguished professional service honors, and much more.
Over 50 disciplines are recognized in this newly created resource which brings together
all of the honors bestowed on current UofM research faculty for the first time.
It is not commonly understood how honorifics are won. In the majority of cases, it is the responsibility of the faculty member to apply, or for the University to apply on behalf of the faculty. To help clarify this process, we have also created a page that provides helpful guidelines on pursuing honorific awards. We encourage you to consider applying, as these awards raise the profile of you, your department, and the wider University. If you are not sure which honorifics are best suited to you, email researchdev@memphis.edu and we will conduct a search of potential honorifics based on your publication history and career stage.
The data for this effort was collected using Academic Analytics, a platform which
helps the University to grow the research funding and does not include state and local
recognitions. If you have been recognized at a national or international level and
award is not listed, please email researchdev@memphis.edu and we will add you to the list.
Be sure to check out the honors and awards section of our site for information on other UofM recognitions.
