Grimm Fairy tales brought to life on UofM MainStage!

The Secret in the Wings is a grouping of dark fairy tales adapted by Tony Award winning theatre artist Mary Zimmerman. Her work in-cludes: The Arabian Nights, Journey to the West, Metamorphoses, The Odyssey, and The White Snake.

From its gruesome to its most comic moments The Secret in the Wings stages seven dark and lesser known fairy tales, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. The magic of The Secret in the Wings lies in its ability to transport us back into a childlike world of wonder and imagination, where bundles of twigs are babies, snakes have supernatural healing powers, and hearing a story and being part of it are one and the same.

The Secret in the Wings is directed by theatre faculty member John Yorke. This extremely talented and diverse ensemble includes: Blake Currie (Measure for Measure), Matthew Hooper, Christian Hinton, Levarius Goods, Kyle Buchanan, Simmery Branch, Akia Miller, Kait-lyn Thorne, and Heather Groom. Each of these nine performers will assume many different roles in this suspenseful and mysterious play
