Evaluations
A full range of speech and language diagnostic services is available for infants through adults in the following areas:
- Language
- Language Learning (reading, spelling, etc.)
- Speech Sounds (articulation, phonology, apraxia of speech, pronunciation)
- Stuttering (fluency)
- Voice
- Feeding
- Cognition and/or memory deficits related to language
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Evaluations provide useful and specific information regarding communication difficulties and differences and will determine if therapy is appropriate. Following the evaluation, results and recommendations are explained and discussed. Individuals who have recently been evaluated by a certified speech-language pathologist may submit the reports for consideration of admission to therapy without repeating the testing.
Children under the age of 4 years will be scheduled for a full hearing evaluation prior to the speech and language evaluation. If a recent hearing evaluation has been completed, reports may be submitted for review by one of our audiologists. If the information is current and complete, the child would then be scheduled for the speech and language evaluation.
