The 2022 Communities of Research Scholars (CoRS) Program Call for Proposals

Deadline for proposals: COB, Sept. 17

Established in the fall of 2018, CoRS was created to cultivate interdisciplinary discourse and nurture the growth of research across the UofM. Each community is comprised of faculty representing multiple disciplines, perspectives and research approaches with a shared interest in exploring a common research theme.

The 2022 CoRS will continue to cultivate interdisciplinary discourse and nurture research growth.

Successful applications will:

  • Include an interdisciplinary team of faculty.
  • A detailed budget narrative.
  • A thematic area of inquiry that your group would like to explore.
  • Potential external funding opportunities.

Previously funded CoRS, as well as new applicants, are eligible.

To allow faculty interested in submitting a response the opportunity to learn from 2021 CoRS recipients, Research Development will be hosting a Meet and Greet/Ice Cream Social from 1:30-3pm, Friday, September 10, 2021 outside the FedEx Institute of Technology!!

As CoRS recipients are required to present about their projects during Fall 2021, the Meet and Greet/ Ice Cream Social will provide an opportunity for a casual Q&A, over ice cream, regarding the CoRS application development process and the CoRS experience.

Safety is our first priority, so the CoRS casual discussions will occur outside the FedEx Institute to take advantage of the open airflow and to allow for the safe eating of ice cream.   However, all attendees should still remember to remain socially distanced.

If you are interested in learning about the CoRS process from previous recipients or if you are just interested in stopping by to greet old friends and meet new friends, join us Friday, September 10, between 1:30-3pm in the lobby of the FedEx Institute of Technology, MemPops will be outside on the patio.
