Community Scholars Program Funds 21 Grants for the 2022-23 FY

Helping Faculty Develop Community Partnerships and Grow Grantsmanship

The Division of Research & Innovation has completed the 2023 Communities of Research Scholars (CoRS) Program call for proposals and awarded 21 grants. The CoRS Program is designed to cultivate interdisciplinary discourse and nurture the growth of research affinity groups across campus. Each community is comprised of faculty representing multiple disciplines, academic units, perspectives, and research approaches with a shared interest in exploring a common research theme/topic.

The 2022-23 CoRS continued this by identifying projects that cultivate and nurture research growth. Successful applications included: An interdisciplinary team of faculty; a short budget narrative; a thematic area of inquiry that the group would like to explore; and potential external funding opportunities, if any. These 21 awards ranged from $2,500-$5,000 and all projects will be completed by June 30, 2023.
