Dr. Thomas Goebel, assistant professor in the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, was awarded $549,995 from the U.S. Department of Energy for his project “Assessing the relative contributions of fluid pressure and elastic stress to induced seismic energy release.”
Dr. Gavin Bidelman, professor in the Institute for Intelligent Systems, was awarded $347,058 from the National Institutes of Health for his project “Neural Dynamics Underlying the Emergence of Auditory Categorization and Learning.”
Dr. Lan Wang, department chair and Dunavant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, was awarded $101,566 from Peraton Labs Inc. in collaboration with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency for her project “Mission-Integrated Network Control.”
Dr. Demetria Frank, associate professor of Law and associate dean for Diversity and Inclusion, was awarded $100,000 from the Law School Admission Council for her project “LSAC PLUS Program.”
Dr. Latrice Pichon, associate professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, was awarded $89,173 from Meharry Medical College through collaboration with the Center for Disease Control for her project “Implementation of Rapid HIV Testing and Linkage to HIV Treatment or Prevention Among Vulnerable Populations in Tennessee.”
Dr. Satish Kedia, professor in the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences and SBD PhD Program Coordinator, was awarded $80,000 from Buffalo Valley (BV) Incorporated in collaboration with the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for his project “BVI-SAMHSA Evaluation for Homeless.”
Dr. James Meindl, associate professor in the Department of Instruction and Curriculum Leadership, was awarded $70,000 from the University of Memphis Research Foundation in collaboration with The Urban Child Institute for his project “University of Memphis Behavior, Research, & Language Alliance (UMBReLA).”
Dr. Abby Parrill-Baker, dean and professor in the Department of Chemistry, was awarded $59,138 from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health for her project “BK Channel Steroid Interactions.”
Dr. Aaryani Sajja, assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded $50,000 from Northwell Health for her project “The Research Jump-Start Pilot Program.”
Dr. Jeffrey Marchetta, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded $50,000 from the Tennessee Technological University and the US Department of Energy for his project “TN 3-Star Industrial Assessment Center.”
Dr. Arleen Hill, professor in the Department of Earth Sciences, was awarded $47,298 from Vanderbilt University in collaboration with the National Science Foundation for her project “FW-HTF-P: Integrating Practitioner Knowledge and Technology for the Future of Water Treatment.”
Dr. Fawaz Mzayek, associate professor in the Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Environmental Health, was awarded $46,204 from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the National Institutes of Health for his project “Tennessee Heart Health Network: Implementing Patient-Centered Practices in Primary Care to Improve Cardiovascular Health.”
Dr. Yu Jiang, associate professor in the Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Environmental Health, was awarded $45,851 from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center for her project “Data management and data analyses.”
Dr. Aaron Robinson, associate professor and graduate studies coordinator in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was awarded $45,000 from the Invariant Corporation in collaboration with the US Department of Defense for his project “Visual Based Navigation.”
Dr. Diana Ruggiero, associate professor in the Department of World Languages and Literatures, was awarded $29,997 from the Tennessee Board of Regents for her project “Open Educational Resources Grant to create OER for medical interpreting course.”
Dr. Brennan Berg, associate professor in the Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management, was awarded $15,000 from the American Athletics Conference for his project “Acclimating to a New Era: Name, Image, and Likeness in the AAC.”
Dr. Stephanie Ivey, associate dean for Research and professor in the Herff College of Engineering, was awarded $10,110 from Gannett Fleming Inc in collaboration with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials for her project “TSMO Workforce Summit.”
Dr. Chidambaram Ramanathan, research assistant professor in the College of Health Sciences, was awarded $8,653 from Nutrasource for his project “Analysis of total antioxidant capacity in human serum samples.”
