New F & A rates go into effect July 1, 2023 for on-campus research.

The University’s federally negotiated indirect cost rate for on-campus organized research increased to 45% on July 1, 2023. This rate is effective from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025. The rate will increase to 46% on July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. The rates were negotiated with the University’s cognizant federal agency, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

All new awards for on-campus organized research with a start date on or after July 1, 2023, are subject to the new indirect cost rate, unless supported by an approved indirect cost exception request that provides for the assessment of a lower rate.
