Dr. Ali Fatemi, Ring Companies Endowed professor and department chair, director of Fatigue and Fracture Research Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded $330,000 from Materials Resources LLC with the Office of Naval Research for his project “ICME-based fatigue life prediction for additive manufactured metallic components - Phase II.”
Dr. Alfred Hall, assistant dean in the College of Education, was awarded $181,207 from National Science Foundation for his IPA project.
Dr. Robert Smalley, research professor in the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, was awarded $93,079 from the US Geological Survey for his project “Determining GNSS strain rate and uncertainty in low strain rate regions: Application to the New Madrid Seismic Zone and Northeastern Oklahoma.”
Dr. Farhad Jazaei, assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, was awarded $84,444 from Brown and Caldwell with the Great Lakes Water Authority for his project “Investigating the Occurrence of Microplastic Pollution within the Biosolids of Wastewater Treatment Plants.”
Dr. John Sabatini, professor in the Department of Institute for Intelligent Systems, was awarded $50,000 from the Trustees of Boston College with the International Association for the Evaluation of Education Achievement for his project “TIMSS/PIRLS Boston College Expert Committee.”
Dr. Susan Elswick, professor in the Department of Social Work, was awarded $46,800 from Porter-Leath Children's Center with the State of Tennessee for her project “Building Strong Brains Proposal.”
