Research Administration Services Support Faculty

OSP and Grants & Contracts Accounting changes implemented to better serve researchers.

Over the last few months, a committee consisting of faculty, researchers, pre-award and post-award staff have been working to develop a more comprehensive researcher centric office. The Executive Vice President for Research & Innovation is pleased to announce the merger of pre-award and post-award. The Office of Research Enterprise Services will be led by Terrice Watson. Pre-Award Services, previously called the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), will be led by Stephanie Thompson. Post-Award Services, previously called Grants and Contracts Accounting, will be led by Linda Heide.

The focus of the Office of Research Enterprise Services is to enhance services to the research community as the University of Memphis' research enterprise evolves and grows. The merged offices will help prepare us for growth by bolstering the research administration infrastructure, allowing us to increase central administration staff competencies and integrate processes. The merger will result in improved customer service, financial compliance, and the implementation of best practices, which will enhance proposal submission, account setup, and award management processes. Over the next few months, we will keep the research community informed of transition-related improvements.
