DRIVE Research Program Hosts Two-Day Workshop
Delta Revitalization Through Innovation, Vision and Equity helping communities pursue federal funding.
The DRIVE program, a pilot effort supported by Delta Regional Authority and Department of Labor, has assembled eight communities from across the Delta region to pursue federal funding for community development and growth. Because of declining population trends and historic underinvestment, state support for innovation and transformation in the Mississippi Delta region is limited. To break cycles of poverty and create sustainable growth, communities need to pursue federal funding. If you can't afford to hire grant writers and project managers with the expertise to navigate the federal opportunity landscape, you lose out on resources.
Through collaboration, the region can thrive. The University of Memphis is leveraging its deep resources and expertise in grant development to help these communities in their pursuit of place-based innovations and resources that will help to create competitive economic advantage. By building a regional ecosystem that is reliant on the partners who call the Delta home, we can reverse trends to create a positive trajectory for everyone.
