TigerLIFE Education Coach
TigerLIFE - education coach/mentor will support students in the development of understanding career paths and mentor students in navigating the college campus experience. They will help students by modeling specific skills required for employment and may help train students in developing these skills, as well as assist students with job application and interview preparation processes. The position is a one semester appointment with the possibility of an internship opportunity during the summer. Our students are graduates of high school programs designed for students with mild intellectual disabilities. As Mentors coaches will assist their students in identifying personal goals, developing leadership skills and exploring career choices. Daily duties may include helping students during on-campus events, attending meal times with students, accompanying students to on and off campus events.
Requirements to Become a Tiger-LIFE Education Coach
Current University students who have a commitment and passion for working with students that have special needs and is dedicated to helping the students maintain a blended experience in the college setting. The position is compensated on an hourly base. Hourly pay rates will range from $7.25 per hour up to $10.00 per hour based on completion of education and coach certification training, which will transfer with the student and is a state certification that can be included on the job coach mentors resume.
