New Smart Classroom Instructions

 

System Startup

To power up the system, begin by touching the panel screen.
Choose your desired input by pressing one of the input buttons located at the top of the screen.

Instructor PC

PC button selection

For access to the instructor PC, simply press the "PC" button. Log in using your University of Memphis UUID and password. If the room is equipped with a camera and microphone, they will automatically be available for web conferencing once this input is selected.

 

USB-C Connection

Select the "USB-C" button and connect your USB-C device. This connection sends your video and audio to the projection system while also charging your device. If the room has a camera and microphone, they will automatically be available for web conferencing on your USB-C device upon selecting this input.

 

HDMI Connection

Press the "HDMI" button and connect your HDMI device. This HDMI connection transmits your video and audio to the projection system. If the room is equipped with a camera and microphone, they will automatically be accessible for web conferencing on your HDMI device when this input is chosen, provided that you connect your device to the USB-A cable on the podium.

 

Wireless Screensharing

To wirelessly screenshare from your device, press the "Screenshare" input button. This wireless input is compatible with Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android devices. Ensure you are connected to the UM network. While screensharing, search for "[room number]-Share-My-Screen."

  • For MacOS/iOS users, use Airplay to connect to "[room number]-Share-My-Screen."
  • Windows users can press Windows + K and select "[room number]-Share-My-Screen."
  • Android users should explore their device settings for screen sharing options (e.g., Smart View, Cast Screen, mirror) and connect to "[room number]-Share-My-Screen."

 

Camera Controls

Adjust the audio volume using the volume bar on the right side of the panel to set the desired speaker volume level.

If the room is equipped with a camera, press the Camera Controls button to access camera controls. Use software on the connected device to preview the camera.

To temporarily blank the screen, press the "Projector Mute" button.

 

System Shutdown

To turn off the system, press the red power button located at the bottom left of the touch panel, and confirm the shutdown.
