Internships

The Honors College encourages its members to gain valuable experience through an internship. The University Memphis Academic Internship Program is nationally ranked (Top 10 by U.S. News and World Report) for providing students with the valuable, real-world experience that only hands-on internships provide.

Honors Members

For Honors College members, an approved credit-bearing internship will count as an Honors Experience and three hours of honors credits. All honors experiences must be approved, in advance, by the Honors College Director. For approval, please submit a honors experience form to the Honors College prior to start of the experience.

Internship Opportunities

Internship opportunities are coordinated by the University of Memphis (UofM) Career Services and individual academic department internship coordinators. For information on internship opportunities and guidelines, please contact your academic advisor, your major's internship coordinator or UofM Career Services.

The Washington Center Internships Program

The University of Memphis has established a partnership with The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars that provides a unique opportunity for students to work and study in our nation's capital. Interns pay UofM tuition and fees, and also receive about $6,000 in financial assistance from the Tennessee Board of Regents toward The Washington Center's fees, tuition, housing, and transportation. All UofM financial aid arrangements (Hope Scholarship, University scholarships, etc.) remain in effect.
