Lindner Elected to Hungarian Academy of Sciences
Biomedical Engineering professor to serve as external member
Dr. Ernő I. Lindner, R. Eugene Smith Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Professor of Chemistry, has been elected as an external member of the Hungarian National Academy of Sciences. Lindner is an IUPAC fellow, and this prestigious international appointment recognizes the high-quality and impact of Lindner’s scholastic and research accomplishments.
Lindner holds multiple degrees from both the Technical University of Budapest and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His previous honors include the Award of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1990), the Hungarian Journal of Chemistry Best Scientific Paper of the Year (1989), and Honored Inventor by the Hungarian Ministry of Industry (1986). During his time at the University of Memphis, he has received the Willard R. Sparks Eminent Faculty Award, the Alumni Association Distinguished Research Award in Science, Engineering and Math, and the Herff College Outstanding Faculty Research Award, and the Ballard Professor of Biomedical Engineering.
