FedEx Institute of Technology's talk series bring world-class speakers to the UofM on issues related to tech.
The fall semester is underway, and the UofM FedEx Institute of Technology will welcome several guest speakers over the academic year as part of our ongoing efforts to bring world-class researchers and expertise to the UofM. As part of this push, we are offering four speaker series where we will host speakers to share expertise in various areas as they relate to technology. Technology Serving Humanity: 2022-23 Speaker Series
Featuring scholars within the social sciences, humanities, fine arts, and non-technical disciplines. As the world moves rapidly into an era promising massive hyper-disruptive change driven both by new technological innovations and the collapse of disciplines, the FedEx Institute of Technology of the University of Memphis is launching a new public lecture series focusing on the deeper underpinnings and impacts of this change on individuals and communities. This Technology Serving Humanity series will focus on the social, political, philosophical and humanistic considerations, rather than on technological aspects. The goal is to help our regional community understand and hopefully play an active role in navigating or shaping the expected disruptions and changes.
Energy, Defense and AgTech: 2022-23 Speaker Series
The ENDEAVOR Research Cluster initiative within the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis focuses on research in the energy, defense, and AgTech industries. In 2022-23, ENDEAVOR will host a seminar series featuring industry subject experts in these areas. The energy and agriculture sectors are increasingly complex and connected, and the need to reduce carbon emissions and provide resilience in response to changing conditions requires significant change to current practice. This seminar series presents overviews of the latest research and technology from national leaders and provides an opportunity to discuss the future implications for their work.
Healthcare & Technology: 2022-23 Speaker Series
Partnering with the School of Public Health, learn how leading clinicians are using the latest technology to serve their patients. Join us for a series of free, one hour webinars designed to instruct healthcare professionals, clinicians, and leaders of community-based organizations through the intricacies of enabling telehealth remote home visits, services and real-world outcomes.
Partnering with Blockchain901, tech leaders from Microsoft, IBM, IEEE, ConsenSys Health, and more share their real world experience and provide insight into what lies ahead in the blockchain world. Topics will include blockchain governance, platforms, tokenization, and more. This is an ongoing series and schedule is regularly updated.
