Findings in Sport, Hospitality, Entertainment, and Event Management is an online outlet (accessible via KWS website) that focuses on providing readers relevant information though empirical investigations and topical essays on a wide range of topics in a succinct manner. In the spirit of GoogleScholars tagline 'Stand on the Shoulders of Giants', FinSHEEM strives to provide researchers and readers with findings that incrementally advance understanding and knowledge. To that note, the outlet is intended for investigations that make meaningful contributions to literature and provide a path toward future investigation. Specifically, FinSHEEM is meant for papers that add to and encourage research progress in strides (multi-studies not necessary).
More specifically, FinSHEEM aims to add to understanding in the areas of sport, entertainment, tourism, and event management through papers that use the mantra '(1) Tell Us the Issue, (2) Tell Us what is Known, (3) Tell us What you Found, and (4) Tell us What you will do next'.'
FinSHEEM welcomes empirical investigations and topical essays that cover topics such
as (but not limited to):
- Sport Management
- Fan/Consumer Behavior
- Fan/Consumer Psychology
- Entertainment Management
- Tourism Management
- Event Management
- Emerging Trends
- Areas of Future/Needed Investigation
Papers:
To meet the objective of FinSHEEM, papers should be written in a succinct manner,
with page counts ranging from 5 to 9 pages (not including References and Tables/Figures).

Empirical Studies (Double Spaced 12pt Times New Roman – approximately 1,500 to 2,500
words*)
i. Introduction - .5 to 1.5 page(s) ('Tell Us the Issue')
ii. Background, Literature Review, and Research Questions or Hypotheses – 1 to 2 pages
('Tell Us what is Known')
iii. Methodology and Results – 2 to 3 pages ('Tell Us what you Did and Found')
iv. Discussion – 2 to 3 pages ('Tell Us What Scholars should do Next')
Topical Essays (Double Spaced 12pt Times New Roman – approximately 1,000 to 1,500
words*)
i. Introduction/The Issue - .5 to 1.5 page(s) ('Tell Us the Issue')
ii. Background, Literature Review, and Need for Research – 1 to 2 pages ('Tell Us
What is Known')
iii. Call to Action – 1 to 2 pages ('Tell Us What Scholars should do Next')
*Not including Abstract, Tables/Figures and References
Empirical papers should include a 100 to 150-word abstract (50 to 100 for Topical Essays), 5 to 7 keywords, and a References section that uses APA 7th Edition. Tables and Figures should appear after the References section.
As papers in FinSHEEM are meant to be succinct descriptions of findings and research
ideas, author(s) will be asked to engage with readers and colleagues that have questions,
comments, and ideas about findings. In particular, each paper will be accompanied
by:
1. A 30 second to 2:30 minute video summary which will be posted online and distributed
to readers – Due at time of Submission
Papers (Microsoft Word format) and summary video (MP4 Format) will be submitted via email to chavard@memphis.edu.
Objective of FinSHEEM:
FinSHEEM seeks to be an outlet which assists individuals in the research and publishing
process by providing timely and relevant feedback in an effort that leads to dissemination
of research and ideas. Therefore, papers will be reviewed and receive feedback with
the intent of improving the product in a timely manner. Published papers will be formatted
and uploaded to the outlet's site on a rolling basis.
The research process is a worthwhile endeavor, and the dissemination of findings and supported ideas is a rewarding outcome. To that end, FinSHEEM seeks to assist individuals in improving their research, data presentation, and dissemination skills.
