Research within the Kemmons Wilson School
The faculty within the Kemmons Wilson School have over 230 publications and 3,700 citations (GoogleScholar) in academic outlets in fields such as sport management, hospitality and resort management, business, and education. Faculty have published in areas such as sport fandom, escalation of commitment, hotel management and marketing, food production, sport policy, sport for development, rivalry in sport, social impact of sport, education, ethnic studies, and service learning.

Quarterly
Dr. Cody T. Havard, associate professor of sport commerce in the Kemmons Wilson School
of Hospitality and Resort Management was lead co-editor for the recently released
special issue on Rivalry in Sport published by Sport Marketing Quarterly. The special
issue highlights marketing and practitioner implications of sport rivalry. The issue

Kemmons Wilson School Research Forum
In fall 2016, we launched the KWS Research Forum to allow faculty from Hospitality and Resort Management and Sport and Leisure Management to discuss current and future research. Over the last five years, we have featured presentations from KWS faculty and practitioners from the fields of hospitality and sport management. KWS Research Forum topics include the impact of COVID-19 on the hotel and hospitality industry, the impact of eSports and legalized betting on the sport industry, using creativity to engage consumers, and what it means to be a fan of the sport product. Bureau of Sport and Leisure Commerce
The Bureau of Sport and Leisure Commerce was selected by the National Association
of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) to collect data on student attendance
at college athletic events. The on-going research will carry through the Spring 2017
semester and conclude with Cody T. Havard and Timothy D. Ryan sharing their findings
with the full NACMA membership at their annual conference in Orlando, Florida.
