Dr. Rezaee published in new textbook

For release:  January 28, 2016

Dr. Zabihollah Rezaee, professor of Accountancy and Thompson-Hill Chair of Excellence, recently co-authored a chapter in the book Sustainability in Hospitality from Greenleaf Publishing. Dr. Rezaee collaborated with Dr. Cindy Choi, Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management. Their chapter is entitled "The Relevance of Business Sustainability in the Hotel Industry."

This book chapter examines the relevance and application of business sustainability for the hotel industry. There are five dimensions of sustainability performance useful to hotels: Economic, Governance, Social, Ethical, and Environmental (EGSEE). Standardized sustainability reporting and assurance guidelines are needed to accurately, completely and reliably communicate EGSEE sustainability performance to all stakeholders. Publishing a sustainability performance report along with annual reports will bring benefits to the hotel companies and the EGSEE dimensions of sustainability performance reporting will ensure a more effective and useful report for all hotel stakeholders.
