For release:  December 21, 2018

The University of Memphis Gamma Chi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi has been recognized internationally as a Superior Chapter by the national Beta Alpha Psi Board of Directors. In addition, Dr. John Malloy received Beta Alpha Psi's 2018 Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award. This honor, sponsored by RSM, was given to only five advisors selected from among 300 chapters. Under the leadership of Professor Malloy, the Gamma Chi Chapter far exceeded the baseline requirements of Beta Alpha Psi and has excelled in the areas of academics, professionalism, and leadership.

Over the past year, the Beta Alpha Psi members invested over 1,055 joint hours of service and professional development. Notable partnerships this past fall included joint service days with Pfizer, AutoZone, Women in Leadership, and DeNeuville Learning Center. The student organization also hosts Friday professional meetings to encourage engagement between students and local professions. Professional partners who took part in Friday professional meetings included: KPMG, HHM, Wiley, ATA, AutoZone, Watkins Uiberall, Becker, SaveFirst Tax, and HORNE LLP. From technology to conflict resolution, each firm was able to engage students in professional development while also highlighting opportunities for internships and full-time positions.

Congratulations again to Dr. Malloy and the members of Gamma Chi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi!
