Dr. Mark Gillenson Chosen as Speaker for 2019 Data Management Conferences

MEMPHIS, TN—April 3, 2019. Dr. Mark Gillenson, Professor of Business Information and Technology, from the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis was one of the chosen speakers for the annual Enterprise Data World (EDW) Conference, held in Boston this year, and has accepted an invitation to speak for DAMA International.

Over 1,000 data management professionals attended the EDW conference in Boston, MA where Dr. Gillenson premiered the advanced data management topic, The NoSQL Sequel: NewSQL, Blockchain, and Data Lakes.

"The conference was a great showing of data management professionals and my topic, in particular, was a very broad approach to advanced data management—not readily seen in higher education data management curriculum," said Gillenson.

Dr. Gillenson was also invited to participate in the DAMA International speaker's bureau. DAMA is the Global Data Management Community dedicated to continuing education of data management professionals through DAMA Chapters. The Mid-South DAMA Chapter was founded by Dr. Gillenson in 2006 where he was the chapter's first president for four years and now occupies a board seat as at-large board member.
