Dietetics Admissions

Applying to Dietetics follows the standard University admission process — here is exactly what that looks like for your situation.

Degree-Seeking Students

Dietetics admission follows University admission criteria and the standard application process. When you complete the application, select Health Studies as your major and Dietetics as your concentration.

Students With a Bachelor's Degree

If you have already completed a bachelor's degree and only need Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) coursework, follow these steps.

1

Send your transcripts

Submit an official copy of all transcripts to:
University of Memphis College of Health and Human Sciences
ATTN: Mary Catherine Schallert
106 Elma Roane Fieldhouse
Memphis, TN 38152

2

International degrees: get an evaluation

If you completed your degree outside the United States and its territories, you must have your academic degree validated and a course-by-course evaluation completed. See the ACEND list of independent foreign degree evaluation agencies and contact the agency directly for current requirements and costs. Submit the official report, including degree and course equivalency, to Mary Catherine Schallert.

3

Request your DPD evaluation

Email a request for an official DPD evaluation. Include a list of every transcript to expect, plus your mailing address, email address and phone number.

4

Allow time for review

Evaluations arrive by email 2–4 weeks after your transcripts are received. Summer requests may take longer.

5

Apply to the UofM

If you decide to complete the UofM DPD program, follow the standard undergraduate admission procedures.

Credit for Prior Learning
