Teacher Education Program (TEP) Admissions
All teacher licensure candidates must apply or be admitted to the UofM first and then apply for admission to the Teacher Education Program as an Undergraduate Student> or Graduate Student>.

Undergraduate Students
Admission to the Teacher Education Program
All undergraduate students pursuing a teacher license must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) in order to move forward to restricted courses. Not being admitted to TEP at the appropriate time could result in delaying graduation and/or not meeting certification requirements. To be admitted into TEP, an undergraduate candidate must:
- submit the Undergraduate TEP application>
- have a 2.75 cumulative undergraduate GPA
- ACT score of 21 or higher
- complete the following prerequisite courses
- Teaching All Learners and Human Development and Learning majors
- ENGL 1010
- ENGL 1020
- MATH 1420 or equivalent
- EDPR 2111
- Integrative Studies, Secondary Math majors
- ENGL 1010
- ENGL 1020
- MATH 1530 or equivalent
- EDPR 3302
- Teaching All Learners and Human Development and Learning majors
- have a cleared TBI background check on file in the Office of Teacher Education
- Note: Candidates who do not meet all of the above requirements should discuss alternate admission criteria with their advisor.
Residency II Requirement
Students must pass all required Praxis content exams before beginning Residency II.
K-12 Education Minor TEP Admissions
K-12 Education Minor candidates must apply for admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) in March before beginning their Graduate-level coursework in the Fall semester and fulfill all TEP requirements. To be admitted into the Teacher Education Program (TEP) through the K-12 Education Minor, a candidate must:
- Enroll in the K-12 Education minor as an undergraduate and complete required coursework
- complete the K-12 Education Minor TEP Application >
- have a 2.75 undergraduate GPA to be admitted to TEP
- have passed their Praxis II Content Exam to be admitted to TEP
- must maintain a 3.0 graduate GPA on all graduate coursework once admitted to the TEP
program.
Graduate Students

Not being admitted to TEP at the appropriate time could result in delaying graduation and/or not meeting certification requirements. To be admitted into the Teacher Education Program (TEP), a graduate candidate must:
- submit a Graduate TEP Application>
- have a 3.0 graduate GPA
- must have passed all Praxis content area examinations
- have a cleared TBI background check > on file in the Office of Teacher Education and Clinical Practice.
