About Dr. Grimes
I joined the Department of Communication at the Lambuth Campus of the University of Memphis in the fall of 2015. I am a communication generalist and bring to the U of M over 20 years teaching experience. I have developed and taught an assortment of communication courses over the years which include: Speech, Public Speaking, Interviewers and Interviewing, Business Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, Communication and Ethnicity, Health communication, and Communication Ethics.
My research interests have varied over time, moving from rhetoric and public address to gender theory to intercultural communication to interpersonal communication to health communication. My current research focuses on script theory and its applications to health communication and patient satisfaction. My future aspirations are to continue seeking knowledge and share what I learn with my students, so they can adapt to an ever changing world.
