Returning Student Scholarships
Returning (2L and 3L) law students interested in applying for law scholarships have multiple options. Information about applying will be sent to enrolled students in January each year.
Endowed & Named Donor Awards
Returning (2L and 3L) law students can apply for a variety of one-time awards with varying criteria including financial need, merit, legal interests, demographics, year in law school, etc. Award amounts vary and are not renewable.
These scholarships require applicants to apply via Tiger Scholarship Manager (TSM). All scholarships require applicants to also upload a resume. Please save your resume document as your last name first, then first name before you upload it online (i.e. "Smith, John"). To access these scholarships, interested returning law students should follow the instructions below.
TSM Application - open for applications February 1 - April 1
- Complete the General Application (or update, if needed)
- Complete law school specific scholarship applications
- search by "Cecil C Humphreys"
- Detailed information on each scholarship is available by clicking the "apply" button
Law Service Scholarships
Law service scholarships require set number of service hours throughout the year (260 total) and there are four qualifying service placement options. They may require summer hours. The Service Scholarship Placement Preference Application is made available in early spring.
Existing Herff and Faculty Emeritus Scholarship Recipients - these renewable scholarships are awarded to entering 1L students and require a service placement in 2L and 3L year. Students who have either of these scholarships will be notified to complete the Service Scholarship Placement Preference Application.
Humphreys Fellow Applicants - these one-year service scholarships are awarded to 2L and 3L students and require a service placement. 2L and 3L students interested in applying for a service scholarship must complete the Service Scholarship Placement Preference Application. Humphreys Fellow recipients must reapply each year.
Service Placement Options:
- Faculty Research Assistant - must complete Service Scholarship Placement Preference Application
- Dean's Writing Center Fellow - must complete Service Scholarship Placement Preference Application as well as additional application managed by Dr. Dunham Smith
- Dean's Academic Success Fellow - must complete Service Scholarship Placement Preference Application as well as additional application managed by Assistant Dean Meredith Aden
- Administrative Placement - must complete Service Scholarship Placement Preference Application
