La Table Francophone
The Table francophone is an informal meeting where all students, faculty, and community members are invited to practice their French every week. Venez nombreux ! Note: The Table will start up again soon at the beginning of Fall semester; please check back here at the end of August or beginning of September for details.
The French Club
The French Club (flyer) at the University of Memphis has a variety of events for people who enjoy learning about the French language and francophone cultures. Whatever your level is in French, please come and join in. Recent events include a Bingo night, a French food night and a Mardi Gras celebration. All events will be in the Student Lounge (Jones 241). Pi Delta Phi (French Honor Society)
The local chapter of Pi Delta Phi elects new members every spring who have been nominated by their instructors for their excellence in French language and Francophone cultures. Activities include the annual initiation ceremony, as well as occasional lectures, dinners, and visits to exhibits of French art. For more information, please contact Errol M. O'Neill.
The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures sponsors a Language Fair for high school students every spring, featuring contests, performances, and career information. French students are urged to attend and help judge and coordinate activities.
