Lambuth Honors College Benefits
- Benefits – There are many benefits to the University of Memphis Helen Hardin Honors College. There are some differences in these for the University of Memphis Lambuth but all benefits can apply to Honors College students at both campuses. Some of the
most important benefits for UofM Lambuth are as follows:
- Graduating with University Honors – students who fulfill program requirements graduate with University Honors, a designation
reflected on the diploma and official transcripts. There are some differences in these
requirements for the University of Memphis Lambuth – see HERE (link).
- Priority Registration Privileges – all students in the University of Memphis Honors College are eligible to register
for classes before the rest of the general student body. This means that honors students are much more
likely to get the classes they want at the times they want.
- At the UofM Lambuth campus this can be very important with its smaller classes and fewer faculty. Classes at
the U of M Lambuth can fill up quickly!
- Scholarship Service Hours - Many scholarships at The University of Memphis require a service obligation to
the institution of 25-50 hours per academic year. Because honors courses require significant
enrichment activities by the student over and above normal course requirements, scholarship
service hours are considered fulfilled for students who are either enrolled in an
honors class, contracting for honors credit, or otherwise completing the requirements
for an Honors Experience. Click HERE for more information about service hours.
- UofM Lambuth Library study room – Honors College students at the UofM Lambuth have access to the Honors student study
room located in UofM Lambuth library, (room 004 in the basement level). The Honors
Study Room has an interactive large-screen TV and various other office amenities exclusively
for the use of our UofM Lambuth Honors College students. It is quiet and safe. Honors
