Suspicious Account Activity

Service Description: 

Suspicious activity (e.g., unexpected DUO prompts or account notifications, replies to emails the user did not send) may suggest that an account has been inappropriately accessed by someone other than the account owner or that an attacker is attempting to gain such unauthorized access. Remember, never share your password with anyone or enter it on unfamiliar webpages. ITS will never ask for your password via email or phone.

Who may request (or are eligible) for this service? 

Suspicious activity involving a UofM account can be reported by anyone.

How to Request Service?

To report suspicious activity, please contact the Service Desk immediately at 901.678.8888 or umtech@memphis.edu. Compromised accounts and other security incidents can be reported using the Security Incident Report form.  Suspicious emails may be forwarded for to abuse@memphis.edu for investigation. UofM Outlook users can also report phishing emails using the Phish Alert Button

What Information is Needed to Fulfill the Service Request?  

To report suspicious activity related to a UofM account, please include a description of the activity and any UofM account(s) involved.
