Guidelines for Electronic Signatures

At the UofM we have a variety of electronic signature solutions. These provides a simple way for users to take paper-based forms and build a sophisticated, interactive electronic forms. All are electronic signing applications that allows users to send and sign securely. They also allows to input other data into a document with automated document workflow. We offer a variety of safe and secure methods for signing a document electronically, below you will find a list with descriptions and documentation of each. 

Adobe Fill & Sign

Adobe Fill & Sign mobile app can fill and sign forms anywhere. With the mobile app for iPhone and Android, snap a picture of a paper form, fill it out, sign it, and send it from your phone or tablet. Now that’s convenient.

Kiteworks

Kiteworks creates a dedicated Private Content Network (PCN) of internal and external digital communications that ensures zero-trust private content protection and compliance of an organization’s most sensitive information.

Softdocs Etrieve

Etrieve is the UofM's enterprise solution for electronic forms and digital signatures. It allows users to:

  • Access a centralized library of forms
  • Send, sign, and stay up to date on form progress
  • Create no-code forms and workflows
  • Automatically route and store completed forms

All faculty, staff, and students can submit and sign documents. To create or manage forms, you must request developer access through the Service Desk.

DocuSign

DocuSign provides a simple way for users to take paper-based forms and build a sophisticated, interactive electronic forms. Docusign is a cloud-based application that allows users to send and sign securely. It also allows to input other data into a document with automated document workflow.

To create or manage forms, you will need to submit a request for access through the Service Desk.

NOTE: Users that gain access to DocuSign will be responsible for all incurred envelope usage costs (approximately $8/envelope).
