The Nova NanoSEM 650 (FEI Co.) was acquired in December 2013 and funded by an NSF Major Research Equipment grant awarded to Drs. Skalli (Biology, IMC Director), Bumgardner (Bioengineering), Lindner (Bioengineering), Mishra (Physics) and Larsen (Earth Sciences).The Nova NanoSEM 650 is a Schottky Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) that combines high and low voltage ultra high resolution capabilities at low vacuum. The instrument features a two-mode final lens, beam deceleration and environmental SEM technology.
