Summer Programs
The German program offers immersive four-week summer study abroad experiences in Eichstätt, Bremen, and Mainz, designed to strengthen language proficiency and deepen cultural understanding. Students take courses in German language, culture, literature, or political science, with placement based on proficiency level. Throughout the program, participants engage with peers from around the world while experiencing daily life in Germany, leading to rapid language development and meaningful cultural exchange. Scholarships are available through the Office for International Programs, making this a highly accessible and impactful short-term option.
Semester/Year Program
Students have the opportunity to study for a semester or full academic year at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, combining advanced German language instruction with coursework in the humanities. This program allows students to fully immerse themselves in German academic and cultural life while continuing progress toward their degree. It is an ideal option for students seeking a deeper, long-term international experience that integrates language learning with disciplinary studies.
ISEP Study Abroad
Through ISEP, students can access a wide range of study abroad opportunities across Germany, expanding their options beyond specific partner institutions. This flexible pathway allows students to choose programs that align with their academic and professional goals while benefiting from structured support through the University of Memphis and international partner institutions. ISEP programs offer a customizable and accessible route to studying in Germany.
Interdisciplinary Program
This unique interdisciplinary program connects the University of Memphis with the University of Mainz, the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, German Television ZDF, and the American Consulate in Frankfurt. Designed especially for students in journalism, communications, film, and related fields, the program integrates academic study with professional experience. Participants are eligible for a paid internship at ZDF, one of Germany’s leading television networks, providing hands-on experience and insight into the German media landscape while applying their language skills in real-world contexts.
