Data Science Research Cluster
Overview
The Data Science Cluster provides leadership for the Data Science Research Initiative at the University of Memphis and the local community by creating a vibrant research environment and training future data scientists to build a Data Science community of practice that includes academia, government and industry in West Tennessee, the Mid-South and beyond.
The importance of Data Science in today's world cannot be overstated. Indeed, Data Science is a new, transformative paradigm in science and technology. With large volumes of data being generated every day from multiple sources (including business, biomedical , educational, science, engineering and personal data), the importance of systematic, rigorous and scientific approaches to understanding these large volumes of data and putting them to good use is now well recognized.
